These tours have been proposed by members and committee but are not at the stage that they can be advertised as a tour.
You can help get these tours to a point where there is enough information to present to members and ask for expressions of interest.
SARCC are always looking for assistance in …
– planning and leading tours
– planning and leading tour rides
– organising non-riding activities for tours

If you are interested in helping out with a particular tour or are seeking further information about one of these proposed tours please express that interest to the person listed.
We always welcome members ideas as to where they would like to tour especially if they have some idea of the rides they would like to do and the sights they want to see. Ideally you would be willing to assist with the planning and organisation. If so please contact a committee member.

Kangaroo Island six day camping tour – December 2025
Peter Hackworth is planning  a six-day ride starting from Penneshaw. He will be camping, with an option of the last night of a motel. All up 370kms at a relatively gentle pace. His itinerary for the six days is as follows:-

  1.    16km, Penneshaw to Antechamber Bay
  2.  103km, Antechamber Bay to Vivonne Bay
  3.    71km, Vivonne Bay to Harvey’s Return
  4.    72km, Harvey’s Return to Stokes Bay
  5.    68km, Stokes Bay to American River
  6.    44km, American River to Penneshaw

March 2026 PERFECT ride tour
5-7 days in regional SA. Crystal Brook/Mount Gambier?
Rides every day. Gravel and MTB 60km

April 2026 Barossa mid week ride
Meet at Gawler station and ride to Tanunda (25km) or Nuriootpa CP (35km). Alternatively participants can simply drive to the Caravan Park however this will be my first short foray into Credit Card Bike Touring where you travel light (pack clothes, toiletries, electronic gadgets) and pay for accommodation and food rather than carry it.
3 nights accommodation (3 consecutive weeknights Tue/Wed/Thu?). Approx 60km rides for each of the 2 days then ride back to Gawler station. Accommodation by participants

Winter 2026/7 Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Loop – small Group Tour
Expressions of interest are sought from riders interested in an
unsupported loop ride out from Brisbane. Travelling by train up to
the Glass House Mountains, doing a loop ride there (32km), then on
the train again up to Gympie and across to the top of the Brisbane
Valley Rail Trail to Ipswich (347km) to catch the train back to
Brisbane. Camping, cabins or local pubs etc.

Winter 2026/7 Flores (East NUSA Tengarra) – Sumba – West Nusa Tengarra – small group tour
Expressions of interest are sought from riders interested in 2-3 weeks of riding / snorkelling / wildlife viewing.
Visit 3 different cultures.
 WNT – Muslim,
 ENT – Catholic
 Sumba – Protestant
Prerequisites needed
 Familiarity with travelling in third world countries
 Able to transport own bike to the start.
 Flexible time frame – requires booking changeable flights for the return in case of delays.
 Able to cope with flexible itinerary as the tour continues
 Able to often start at the crack of dawn to avoid the heat.
Possible individual or group tour to Komodo National Park at the beginning or end or tour.
