Sunday’s ride starts at Moculta Recreation Park, Moculta at 10am
Over the last year Paul and I have been very slowly riding along the Lavender Cycling Trail (Murray 2 Clare) (M2C) from Murray Bridge towards Clare in loops. We are planning on doing another two days and you may like to join us.The cycling route is varied but is often white gravel roads or bitumen roads with quite a few undulations and lovely dry rural landscapes. The Saturday ride will be approximately 50kms and 500m climb. You could camp the night before or drive up on the Saturday morning. This ride has no facilities so bring your own food and water. We are going to camp at this camp ground on Saturday night. The camp ground has powered and un-powered sites but no cabins and there is a hotel in town where you could have a meal. Paul and I will probably bring our own. You could even stay in Angaston or Nurioopta, neither of which are far away.
On Sunday starting from Moculta we ride towards Truro and onward to Dutton before returning, a distance of about 50kms all up. About a 440m climb and 70% gravel. Coffee and food available at Truro as we pass through. We do hope to continue along the M2C Trail in the future, eventually reaching Clare and plan to keep you updated in case any one wants to come along. The weather can be severe in this area so plans are weather dependent. You need to have a mechanically sound bicycle suitable for gravel roads or sand, spare tubes and a few tools and a pump. Please let Robyn or Paul know by phone or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are planning to attend.
