All but one of the riders participating in the President’s Ride for 2022 at Rymill Park/Murlawirrapurka, Adelaide
Rides are held on alternate Sundays in and around Adelaide. Rides commence at 10am and riders are asked to be in attendance 10 minutes beforehand for a prompt start. The rides are usually between 35-45 km at a leisurely pace, approx. 17-20km/h, with a morning snack break and lunch stop. Rides start from various locations around the city, metropolitan area and some country rides. The rides from the city centre usually depart from Victoria Square in the small park west of St Francis Xavier Cathedral. Other starting locations are indicated in the Rides Programme.

Leaders are asked to contact the Organiser prior to 6 pm the evening before the ride to discuss the situation.
Please check this page for any last-minute ride cancellations or alterations to the ride brief.
Equipment
– All riders should carry a pump, puncture repair kit, water bottle, first aid kit,
emergency contact details and other personal requirements. Please supply your
snack and lunch as there may be nowhere to purchase food.
Ride guidelines for Leaders and Participants
– Choose a route that is both interesting and within the capabilities of our members
with a distance between 35-45kms.
– Routes to be planned with a morning snack break and a pleasant spot for lunch. If
possible ensure that there is shelter or shade.
– For publication in the programme and website, prepare a few words about the
starting point, the distance of the ride and some indication of the difficulty of the
ride and forward them to the Organiser.

Meet at Brighton Station, western side car park at 10am for a ride to West Lakes and return. For those requiring a train service, the train from Seaford arrives at 9:52am and the train from the city arrives at 9:57am. The ride will go along Sturt Creek, Military Rd, Port River catchment bike path and Spotsman’s Drive to West Lakes, returning to Brighton along the lake front and the Coastal bike path with lunch at Grange. 15th September 2024 South/North loop from Brighton Railway Station
Meet at Brighton Railway Station, western side car park at 10:00am. There is a 9:57am train arriving at Brighton from Adelaide. Ride along the Coast to Vines trail to Hallett Cove, through Sheidow Pk, across Majors Rd, then down the Veloway, and along Sturt Creek to Apex Park West Beach for lunch (bring or buy). Return to Brighton via the coastal path (or inland if the weather is inclement) with a stop at Glenelg for coffee. Note that there are hills to climb in the first 11 km. Note, if roadworks on Majors Rd block off the bike paths, adjustments will be made to the ride and relayed to riders when gathered for the ride on the day. Approx 40 km.

Meet for 10am start in Gawler Central Railway station car park.
Circumnavigate Gawler taking in Clonlea Park, Dead Man’s Pass and the confluence of rivers before heading north to visit the Uni of Adelaide Roseworthy Campus. Return to Gawler via Roseworthy and Hewett. BYO lunch and morning tea.

We will begin with a loop through the wetlands of the Eastern Parklands, then bikeways and minor roads through Unley, along the Seaford Rail line, through Mitchell Park to Darlington, along the Sturt Creek to the Western Bikeway, and on to the Western Parklands. Meet at Mawson Lakes Interchange at 10am.
Loop ride from Mawson Lakes Interchange travelling alongside Little Para River, Cobbler’s Creek, Slate Creek and Dry Creek using sealed, gravel and dirt paths with the occasional fire track or quiet suburban road. There are a couple of short, steep climbs and a steep descent on this ride. Gravel or Mountain bikes recommended. BYO Lunch and refreshments. Approximately 41km with 500m ascent.

Meet at Brighton Railway Station at 10:00am. The ride will leave after the arrival of the 9:57am Seaford train from Adelaide. Ride along the Coast to Vines trail to Hallett Cove, then through Sheidow Park, down the Veloway, along Sturt Creek to the western end of the Torrens Linear Park for lunch (bring or buy) at Apex Park West Beach. Return to Brighton along the coastal path via Glenelg. Coffee at Glenelg or Brighton. Approx 40 km.
As many club members will be in Perth and there are currently some disruptions to bike paths in the area this ride will be adjusted if necessary, to suit the group riding on the day.
