Details:

- Note: This ride is ideal for mountain or gravel bikes. Road bikes and heavy e-bikes are not suitable, as you could encounter occasional locked gates or challenging terrain. A near mid point coffee stop will be scheduled for each ride. Routes will be posted for download on the SARCC Events page a few days before each ride.

11th January 2026 Heathfield 1
Meet at Heathfield Oval. Loop ride 37.6km, 769m climbing, 61% gravel or off road. Out via Aldgate and Mount George for Coffee at Uraidla – 13km. Back via Ridge Rd, Cleland gravel tracks, Stirling, Rossiter and Bogaduck trails.
18th January 2026 Ashton 1
Meet at Ashton Community Memorial Hall. Loop ride with some side tracks 39.4km, 873m climbing, 42% gravel or off road. Out via Knotts Hill Rd, Blockers Hill with a side track to Burdetts Scrub. Continuing to Uraidla via Deviation, Range and Gully Rds. Back via Piccadilly, Sprigg, Yanagin and Ridge Rds with a sidetrack up Coach Rd. This ride coincides with the Women’s TDU Stage 2. We may well meet them – either at Uraidla 11:36-11:39 am or at Ashton (QOM) 11:27-11:29am.

Meet on Sheoak Rd outside Belair Station at 7:30am (or earlier depending on temperatures). Loop ride, 38.6km, 742m climbing, 44% gravel or off road. Coffee in Stirling – 11km. Out via Belair National Park. Return via Piccadilly Rd, Woodhouse trail, Mt George and Mark Oliphant Conservation Parks.

Meet at Norton Summit Road Rec Res at 8:00am. Loop ride, 898m climbing, 54% gravel or off road. Coffee in Stirling – 20km. Out via Ashton, Ridge Rd & 90% single track and gravel to Stirling. Back via Stirling back roads, Mt George (avoiding steep hill on Mt George Rd), south side Uraidla, Collins Rd, Dabney’s Rd, Monument Rd and difficult single track.

14th December 2025
Meet at Houghton Cemetery at 8:30am. Off Lower NE Rd (Note start time is later than in the newsletter as weather is cool and Coffee not open until 10am at 18km)
Loop ride 38km, 670m climbing, 55% gravel or off road. Estimated saddle time 2hr 47mins. Coffee at Kersbook Hills Wine and Cider – 18km mark, opens at 10am. Leave via NE road (before its busy), then along 90% gravel up to Kersbook. Return via; a climb up (3km, average 2.3%) Kerbrook Rd, which although often busy has a wide shoulder (please wear HIGH VIZ and have a back light), Mt Gawler summit and a glorious 10km gravel section back to Murray Rd using the Pipe line track! The last 4km of bitumen are generally flat or sightly down hill.
Not suitable for heavy e-bikes.

Back via Cleland CP, Crafers, Gully Rd, Range Rd, Knotts Hill and Debney’s Road and Monument Road and difficult single track.

44% gravel. Main road into Claredon is downhill!

There are a a couple for challenging downhill sections on this route. Also some private road access with permission given. Please turn off GPS trackers while on private land.
