To be held most Sundays from mid October to Mid April, except when a PERFECT ride is on Rides start at various early times and locations depending on weather, on most Sundays except when there is a PERFECT ride. <50km, coffee and lots of single gravel tracks. Not suitable for heavy E-bikes

Details:

• Start Time: 7:30 am – 9am
• Location: To be determined each week
• Distance: Less than 50km
• Terrain: gravel and single tracks
• Note: This ride is ideal for mountain or gravel bikes. Road bikes and heavy e-bikes are not suitable, as you could encounter occasional locked gates or challenging terrain. A near mid point coffee stop will be scheduled for each ride. Routes will be posted for download on the SARCC Events page a few days before each ride.

Ride Leadership:
The rides will initially be led by Pete Boult, but we encourage others to join in and lead future rides!

Meet at Sixth Creek Picnic Spot on Corkscrew Rd. 40.2km, 957m Elv, 49% gravel. Out via CORKSCREW HILL, Marble Hill, to Ashton or Uraidla for Coffee. Back via Hunters, Blockers and Mawson Rds and Stone Hut Rd

29th March 2026 Houghton 4
8:45am start. Meet at Houghton Cemetery. 39km, 704m Elv, 45% gravel. Out via Lower Hemitage, and Airstrip Rd, for Coffee at Kersbrook. Back Via CHECKERS HILL, Heysen Trail, Gravel Rush to Dwayne, Adelaide Gully, Fidlers Hill and Blackhill Rds.

1st March 2026 Belair Station 2
Meet at Belair Station carpark. 42.1km, 785m Elev, 56% gravel. Out through Belair NP, Sheoak Rd, Crafers and Cleeland CP for Coffee at Mt Lofty. Back Via Sprigg Rd, Woodhouse, Heysen Trail, Aldgate, Mark Oilphant CP and Warri Parri Ridge Track.

15th February 2026 Mylor 2
Meet at Mylor Oval 7:30am. Loop ride 38.5km, 693m climbing.50% gravel or off road. Out via Longwood, Porteous, Crossing, Silver Lake and Kangaroo Reef Rds to Paechtown and Totness Rec park, then on to Hahndorf (31km) for coffee via private road through Biglands horse agistment property. Back Via Gross and Hooper Rds crossing Cox Creek.

8th February 2026 Houghton 2
Meet at Houghton Cemetery at 7:30am. Loop ride 42.3km, 667m climbing, 54% gravel or off road. Coffee at Kersbook Hills Wine and Cider – 29km mark, opens at 10am. Out Via Lower Hermitage, Millbrook Rd, Mt Gawler, Kersbrook Forest Rd, Sire’s Rd (paddocks), Powell and Rfile Range Rds, to Kersbrook. Back Via Bagsaw, Adealide Gully, Fidlers Hill and Blackhill Rds. Meet at Norton Summit Road Recreational Reserve 7:30am. Loop ride, 37.5km, 781m climbing, 40% gravel or off road. Out via Debneys Rd, Ashton, Tregarthen, Bickles, Greenhill, Mt Lofty Summit Roads and the Warre Track for Coffee at Mounty Lofty Summit (11km). 18th January 2026 Ashton 1
Meet at Ashton Community Memorial Hall. Loop ride with some side tracks 39.4km, 873m climbing, 42% gravel or off road. Out via Knotts Hill Rd, Blockers Hill with a side track to Burdetts Scrub. Continuing to Uraidla via Deviation, Range and Gully Rds. Back via Piccadilly, Sprigg, Yanagin and Ridge Rds with a sidetrack up Coach Rd. This ride coincides with the Women’s TDU Stage 2. Meet at Heathfield Oval. Loop ride 37.6km, 769m climbing, 61% gravel or off road. Out via Aldgate and Mount George for Coffee at Uraidla – 13km. Back via Ridge Rd, Cleland gravel tracks, Stirling, Rossiter and Bogaduck trails.

4th January 2026 Norton Summit 6
Meet at Norton Summit Road Recreational Reserve at 7:30am. Loop ride, 38.5km, 826m climbing, 40% gravel or off road. Out via Moores Rd, Marble Hill, Cherryville and Ashton for Coffee at Uraidla – 17km. Back via Gully Rd, Heysen Trail, Sprigg Rd, Wine Shanty Track and Ridge Rd. 28th December 2025
Meet on Sheoak Rd outside Belair Station at 7:30am (or earlier depending on temperatures). Loop ride, 38.6km, 742m climbing, 44% gravel or off road. Coffee in Stirling – 11km. Out via Belair National Park. Return via Piccadilly Rd, Woodhouse trail, Mt George and Mark Oliphant Conservation Parks.

21st December 2025
Meet at Norton Summit Road Rec Res at 8:00am. Loop ride, 898m climbing, 54% gravel or off road. Coffee in Stirling – 20km. Out via Ashton, Ridge Rd & 90% single track and gravel to Stirling. Back via Stirling back roads, Mt George (avoiding steep hill on Mt George Rd), south side Uraidla, Collins Rd, Dabney’s Rd, Monument Rd and difficult single track.

14th December 2025
Meet at Houghton Cemetery at 8:30am. Off Lower NE Rd (Note start time is later than in the newsletter as weather is cool and Coffee not open until 10am at 18km)

Loop ride 38km, 670m climbing, 55% gravel or off road. Estimated saddle time 2hr 47mins. Coffee at Kersbook Hills Wine and Cider – 18km mark, opens at 10am. Leave via NE road (before its busy), then along 90% gravel up to Kersbook. Return via; a climb up (3km, average 2.3%) Kerbrook Rd, which although often busy has a wide shoulder (please wear HIGH VIZ and have a back light), Mt Gawler summit and a glorious 10km gravel section back to Murray Rd using the Pipe line track! The last 4km of bitumen are generally flat or sightly down hill.
Not suitable for heavy e-bikes.

Meet at Norton Summit Rd Rec Res at 8:00am. Loop ride 37.9km, 880m climbing, 40% gravel or off road. Out via, Ashton, Collins Road, Sprigg Road, Warren Track to Mt Lofty for coffee. Back via Cleland CP, Crafers, Gully Rd, Range Rd, Knotts Hill and Debney’s Road and Monument Road and difficult single track.

Start at Bradbury at 8:30am (corner of Mt Bold and Lamont Roads). Loop Ride, 39km 830m climbing, 44% gravel or off road. Bradbury – Scott Creek Conservation Park – Clarendon for Coffee and back via Old Almanda Mine site
44% gravel. Main road into Claredon is downhill!

16th November 2025
Start Mylor Oval Reserve 8:30am. Loop ride 39.km, 692m climbing, 55% gravel or off-road. Mylor – Longwood, Paechtown, Totness rec park. Hahndorf for Coffee.
There are a a couple for challenging downhill sections on this route. Also some private road access with permission given. Please turn off GPS trackers while on private land.
