Below are links to Pete’s photographs taken on the SARCC 2023 New Zealand Tour. You may think there’s a lot of photos of just the track in these postings. That’s because before I came to NZ, I found that while there were plenty of photos available of views from the track there were few of the track itself and I was under the impression they were much more difficult than they are. So, I am documenting the nature of the track here for others. Plus, the views and people to make a story.
Day 13 Tapeko – Mt Cook and Twizel
Day 11 West coast Trail Karmara to Hokitika
Lots of photos to confirm the state of the track surface.
Day 10 Greymouth to Kumara on the Heritage Tram Trail Ride cut short due to rain.
The first bit was a group ride – The group was small as few wanted to ride after yesterday. I lead the riders to the Copper mine rail track and when we got there the all wanted to go back down. It was agreed it was easy and they were tired. I carried on by myself – very carefully – walking any difficult bits.
Photos from Sharon as Pete had a rest day! Kaiteriteri back to Nelson starting the ride on a mountain bike trail then via the Great Taste Trail and Mapua Ferry. Great day ride with so many different terrains and great weather!
Day 5 St Arnaud to Nelson (nearly)
Day 4 Top end of the Rainbow Trail
Only able to do top end as the bottom above Hamner Springs was deemed too dangerous – see previous day’s ride
